Air-O-Cell sampling - In this process, we collect airborne particulates to get a comparison count between the indoor and outdoor air. Though using an outdoor control sampling can be unreliable, it’s standard in the industry. This helps create a baseline for pre- vs. post-verification but does not evaluate the viability of the spores collected.
EnviroSWAB sampling - This is an effective way of collecting dust, which includes viable mold spores. We plate collected spores on a petri dish and have the laboratory identify and count the number of live colony-forming units (CFUs). This method reports on only the viable mold that has settled in the location and is a good indicator of the environment’s history.
EnviroTAPE sampling - Where visible mold is present, this tape-lift method allows the laboratory to identify and count the number of dead or live items per field. This method does not evaluate the viability of mold growth. Rather, it tests only for the presence of mold and may be unnecessary when time is not a factor or on-site conditions don’t warrant it.
Bulk sampling - Occasionally, we determine that specific construction materials or other items require laboratory testing to identify and count the number of either dead or live items per field. Similar to EnviroTAPE, this method only recognizes the presence of mold, not the viability of mold growth.
